LA GRANDE – (Information provided by EOU Athletics) The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced its WVT Laboratory Players of the Week and Eastern Oregon is once again on the list. Garnering the weekly honors is Track & Field athlete TJ Davis.
Davis was named the CCC Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the Heptathlon at the Washington State Invitational. He had a superb weekend, placing second amongst a field of mostly NCAA DI competitors. He nearly secured the event win, missing it by just 35 points. Davis’ 5,248 points is now the top mark in the NAIA by nearly 100 points and ranks second in EOU program history. Over the two-day span, he had three event wins: the shot put (42-0 3/4), high jump (6-4), and the 1,000-meter run (2:45.76).
The Mountaineers, as a team, will be back in action this Saturday, Feb. 12, in the Whitworth Invitational. Meet action will begin at 8 a.m. inside the Podium in Spokane, Wash.
