Time is running out to apply for jobs at UCFD No. 1

HERMISTON – Jan. 10, 2025, is the deadline for applying for jobs with Umatilla County Fire District No. 1. The district is looking to hire 16 firefighters/paramedics or firefighters/emergency medical technicians in either entry level or lateral moves from other departments.

UCFD No. 1 received $6,935,348 dollars from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s grant program designed to help increase or maintain the number of trained firefighters. The money will also be used to staffing an additional fire station in the district. New hires have a start date of April 21, 2025.

During the remodeling of its main firehouse, administration offices are currently located at the Hermiston campus of Blue Mountain Community College. Umatilla County Fire District No. 1 covers Hermiston, Stanfield, Echo, and Umatilla.
