BAKER COUNTY – Each spring when clocks get moved forward one hour, people often get one less hour of sleep — and that can be an issue for motorists. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, “drivers may not be as alert as they think they are when they get going in the morning and again in the evening. Driver fatigue and lack of attention can significantly increase the risk of a crash. Sleepiness slows reaction time, decreases awareness, and impairs judgment. Drive alert!”
