TikTok video referencing school shooting not connected to WWPS

WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools reports several students at Pioneer Middle School have been discussing a TikTok social media post that originated in Texas which references a school shooting. It turns out it has no ties to the local community.
Communications Director Mark Higgins said while this post has been circulating online, the district took immediate action Wednesday to assess any possible threat to schools within the district.
Pioneer Middle School administration has been in close contact with the Walla Walla Police Department. After a thorough review, WWPD confirmed that there is no direct or credible threat to the district or any of the schools.
“The post appears to be geographically isolated to Texas, and there is no evidence suggesting any local connection,” Higgins said. “We are continuing to monitor the situation and will remain in close communication with law enforcement as an added precaution.”
Walla Walla Public Schools has reminded students and staff to remain vigilant and report any concerns or suspicious behavior to school administrators immediately.
