LA GRANDE – At around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, the La Grande Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a group of people illegally entering a vacant building at 103 Adams Avenue. The initial call reported 3-4 individuals entering the building, followed by the sound of breaking glass from inside.
When LGPD officers and UCSO deputies arrived, three individuals were found hiding in the building, two adults and one juvenile. The group claimed they were there to explore. The two adults were identified as 18-year-old Rhylee Jean Larkinssmith and 18-year-old Kennedy Rose Haggerty. The name of the juvenile was not released by law enforcement.
Both Larkinssmith and Haggerty were arrested and booked into the Union County jail on charges of Burglary II and Criminal Trespass II. The juvenile was cited into the Juvenile Court for Burglary II and Criminal Trespass II.
