LA GRANDE – (Information provided by EOU Athletics) The Cascade Collegiate Conference has announced its 2021 All-Conference selections for men’s soccer. Eastern Oregon University had three players make the final cut.
Making the 2021 All-CCC teams were Dalton Mauzay, Erick Diaz, and Carlos Murillo. Mauzay was tabbed Second Team All-CCC, while Diaz and Murillo both made the Honorable Mention list.
For Mauzay, this is his first career All-CCC honor at Goalkeeper. In 2021, he made 10 appearances in net for Eastern and was tabbed a starter in eight contests. He logged 700 minutes of action and posted a 3-5-0 record on the year and had one shutout. Mauzay finished the season with 53 saves and posted a save percentage of .841. His save percentage was third best in the CCC, while his goals against average of 1.29 ranked seventh. He also ranked eighth in total saves with hsi 53 and his saves per game of 5.30 were sixth highest in the league.
Diaz earned his first career All-CCC honor after appearing in all 15 games at Defender for the Mountaineers. He was tabbed a starter in 11 contests and was able to contribute one goal during the season. His lone goal was also a gamewinner. He helped anchor a defense that posted four shutouts on the year.
Murillo garnered All-CCC honors as a midfielder after being the team leader in points, goals, and assists in 2021. Murillo scored three goals this season and tallied two assists for eight points. He finished the season with 21 shots taken and had nine come on goal. For the season, Murillo appeared in all 15 games for the Mountaineers and was a starter in 14 for EOU.
