LA GRANDE – La Grande Police Department officer’s, Scott Norton and Jamey Carman along with Union County Sheriff’s Deputy Brad Bell were recently recognized and received written commendations from LGPD Sergeant Jared Rogers for their life saving actions during a call for service earlier this year. Congratulations to the three on this recognition.
According to LGPD, “shortly after 1 o’clock in the morning on February 19, 2022, Officers Norton and Carman were dispatched to a call of an individual who was unresponsive and not breathing inside of a car in a La Grande parking lot. Deputy Bell recognized he could be of assistance to the City officers and responded to assist Officers Norton and Carman.
Sergeant Rogers credits the officers quick, professional service and seamless teamwork as a contributing factor to saving this individuals life. He noted the officers administration of Narcan and rescue breathing prior to EMS arrival undoubtedly saved this persons life.
Officer Norton, Officer Carman, and Deputy Bell… Your demonstrated professional ability and service to our community is appreciated. Your teamwork and actions on February 19, 2022 are in keeping with the highest traditions of the La Grande Police Department. Job well done!”
