Three killed in suspected DUI crash

UPDATE – The Richland Police Department reports Jennifer Duong, 19, of Richland has been booked into the Benton County Jail on three counts of vehicular homicide following Sunday’s early morning crash involving a vehicle versus traffic pole at the intersection of George Washington Way and Jadwin Avenue. An investigation learned the vehicle which crashed was racing another vehicle, a white 2010-2011 four door BMW sedan. The BMW was seen fueling on the 1400 block of George Washington Way prior to racing. By Sunday afternoon, RPD reported it had identified a witness and the driver of the BMW, as both of them reached out to law enforcement.

Detectives were able to identify the three victims involved in the crash and have spoken with their families. The families of the victims have requested RPD not identify them at this time in order to allow privacy and time to grieve. Two of the victims were 19 years old and one was 20 years old.

**ORIGINAL STORY**

RICHLAND — The Richland Police Department is investigating a triple fatality vehicle versus traffic pole crash in the intersection of George Washington Way and Jadwin Avenue. The accident occurred at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

When officers arrived on scene, they found three of the four occupants of the vehicles were deceased. The fourth occupant was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition.

Evidence at the scene suggests alcohol may have been a factor in the collision and RPD detectives were called in to assist in processing the scene. The roadway will be closed for several hours.

The names of the involved parties will not be released until detectives can contact next of kin.
