Three juveniles cited after shooting paintballs at cars and people

LA GRANDE – (Details provided by the La Grande Police Department) On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at approximately 2:54PM, La Grande Police Department (LGPD) received multiple reports of juveniles in an older green Chevy pickup shooting cars and people with a paintball gun. 

According to the department, LGPD officers immediately responded and were able to contact the juvenile suspects in this case based on descriptions of the juveniles and a description of the suspect vehicle provided by witnesses.  The names of those involved are not being released due to them being minors

During the investigation, officers learned that a US Post Office Mail Carrier was shot while on their mail delivery route and received minor injuries.  Another citizen was shot at but was not hit. 

Officers were able to seize the paintball gun and other items of evidence. 

Three juvenile males were involved in the incident and all three were cited into the Juvenile Department for Assault IV, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Reckless Endangering. 

This case is still under investigation and more criminal charges may be forthcoming.
