Three injured in two-vehicle collision on U.S. 12

WALLA WALLA – Three people were injured Friday at 7:19 p.m. in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 12 at Sudbury Road in Walla Walla.

The Washington State Patrol reports Clayton A. Gierke, 28, of Kennewick attempted to pass Sylvie L. Dale, 53, of Beaverton, Oregon. Gierke lost control of his pickup and struck Dale’s vehicle.

Both drivers were injured, along with Dale’s passenger, James A. Nicholson, 62, also of Beaverton, Oregon. All three were injured. Both Dale and Nicholson were transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center.

Gierke was cited for second-degree negligent driving. WSP said drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the collision.
