LA GRANDE – May is dedicated Missing & Unidentified Persons Awareness Month and the La Grande Police Department LGPD) is asking for the public’s assistance finding the truth into the disappearance of Leona Kinsey. According to LGPD, “Leona was reported missing from La Grande on October 28th, 1999. According to Leona’s closest friends, she was heavily involved in the sell and use of illicit drugs and owed unknown drug dealers money, which is the suspected reason for her disappearance.”
The LGPD has received assistance from the Oregon State Police, the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs and continue to follow up on leads when they occur, looking into all possibilities of Leona’s disappearance.
LGPD is hopeful that someone knows something that can help us solve this case and bring closure to Leona’s family.
