Red Cross Shelter Volunteer Training

THIS Tuesday, July 30th from 1p-5p at the Grant Union High School (911 S Canyon Blvd, John Day, OR 97845) or online anytime.

Wildfires have taken a toll on our communities already this summer, and the Red Cross has been on the scene to offer shelter, meals, and support to evacuees. To continue delivering round-the-clock services to those in need, we need your help. Would you consider becoming a Red Cross Volunteer to help with disaster operations?

We need help setting up and maintaining sheltering facilities, registering clients, serving meals, and with general housekeeping.

Becoming a Red Cross Volunteer is easy:

  1. Fill out our Volunteer Applicationhttps://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=lead&h=944&p=2158485
  2. Come to our in-person training on Tuesday or complete your training online at your own convenience!
  3. Receive calls to help wildfire evacuees and volunteer as your availability allows.

Just like the unpredictability of a wildfire, the needs of this disaster operation often change and may affect the days/hours. We appreciate your flexibility, patience and dedication as we help the residents of Central and Eastern Oregon recover from this disaster.
