Harney County-The Oregon Water Resources Department (OWRD) will accept grant applications for the Harney Domestic Well Remediation Fund (HDWF) from February 21, 2024, to May 31, 2024. The HDWF may reimburse qualifying homeowners in the Greater Harney Valley Groundwater Area of Concern (GHVGAC) for a portion of the cost to repair or replace and abandon a household water well.
OWRD will host an information session for the fund on March 6 from 5:30–7 p.m. at the Harney County Community Center. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and refreshments will be available before the presentation starts at 5:45 pm. After the presentation, there will be time for the community to ask questions. This session will be recorded and posted on the HDWF webpage. Community members interested in applying for this funding opportunity are highly encouraged to attend and learn about eligibility and application requirements. Application materials are available online and can be accessed by visiting the OWRD website (www.oregon.gov/owrd) and selecting “Funding Opportunities.”
