The City of La Grande will resume ticketing for parking violations downtown

LA GRANDE – Beginning on March 22, 2021, the City of La Grande will resume issuing tickets for parking violations in our downtown area. Warnings will be issued for first time parking violations until April 5, 2021, when fines will start to be assessed. This resumption of enforcement is for the timed parking in the downtown area. Enforcement of parking ordinances in other areas of the community, including handicapped parking, has been enforced throughout the pandemic.
“With most of our retail and restaurants now open to the public, it is time to assist our downtown businesses make sure that customers have access to their stores” said City Manager, Robert Strope. “In addition to on-street parking, there is parking areas designated for those with permits, as well as three areas of open 2-hour parking.” Attached is a parking map for the downtown area.
