PENDLETON โ€“ Itโ€™s back. The Blue Mountain Forest Plan was withdrawn after about 15 years on working on revisions to the plan for the future of the Umatilla, Wallowa-Whitman, and Malheur national forests. Public Affairs Officer Darcy Weseman says it went back to the drawing board and a discussion of new revisions will begin this year.

โ€œWhen we do that, there will be a series of opportunities for the public to participate in open houses or to share feedback with us,โ€ she said.

She said the opportunities for public input will be publicized in advance.

โ€œThereโ€™s going to be a chance for the public to participate in open houses or to share feedback with us,โ€ she said. โ€œWe really want people to be involved and share their input on what they see are the managementโ€™s needs on the landscape to help us in this process.โ€

She said people can also contact the forest office closest to them and ask to be added to a notification list for updates on the Blue Mountain Forest Plan.
