BAKER COUNTY — It’s a hairy job being a Baker County Deputy, but somebody has to do it. Personnel at the Baker County Sheriff’s Office recently participated in their “No Shave November” challenge. According to the department, each deputy participating donates $25 to the cause, which benefits the Kids and Cops program. That program is responsible for the Fishing with a Deputy program, as well as the popular sno-cone trailer at different community and school events.
In addition, deputies were allowed to start almost two weeks early on their beards if they brought in non-perishable food items to the Sharing Pantry located outside the Sheriff’s Office lobby.
