BAKER COUNTY — A Texas man was arrested by Oregon State Police in Baker County recently after being found to have an out of state warrant. Glenn Mitchell Jones, 42, of Cypress Texas was stopped for speeding which resulted in his arrest on charges of “Fugitive from Other State”. The following report was provided by OSP.
“The Oregon State Police received a driving complaint regarding a speeding red commercial motor vehicle (CMV). A Trooper was able to locate the CMV and confirm the CMV was violating the speed limit. During the contact, the Trooper became aware of an active arrest warrant for the driver regarding person smuggling. The warrant was issued out of Texas. The Trooper requested the warrant be confirmed through dispatch (SCC). SCC later advised the warrant was confirmed and they requested the driver be lodged in jail. The Trooper arrested the driver, made arrangements for the CMV to be removed by the company and lodged the driver in jail. The driver’s juvenile son and dog who were also in the CMV were transported to the local OSP Office and the Department of Human Services were notified. DHS ultimately took custody of the juvenile and the dog.”
At the time of this story, Jones was being housed in the Baker County Jail.
