BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker County) Due to the various fires throughout Baker County, including the Durkee, Thompson and Coyote Fires, many areas have been under a Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation. Level 3 is the most serious of evacuation levels and directs people to leave their homes immediately due to the extreme risk of danger. A Level 3 evacuation notification is not issued lightly, but with careful consideration of the circumstances and potential for loss of life.
To assist those Baker County residents who reside in a Level 3 (GO NOW) evacuation zone, the American Red Cross has established a temporary evacuation point, or shelter, at the Family Life Center at the Baker City Church of the Nazarene located at 1250 Hughes Lane.
For additional shelter information, please contact the American Red Cross at 1-800-733- 2767.
