JOHN DAY / PRAIRIE CITY – (Release from the Malheur National Forest)
The Malheur National Forest is implementing temporary bike trail closures on Magone Lake bike trails. These closures are for public safety during logging operations . The closure will be effective June 1, 2024 and will remain in effect until September 30, 2024, unless rescinded sooner.
A temporary closure ensures the safety of the public from logging equipment while completing logging operations.
Bike trail closures:
· #5096, Back of Beyond Trail
· #5098, Beyond Trail
· #5102, Lake Butte Trail from Tinker Bell Trail to Porcupine Spring Trail.
· #5097, Berts Trail
· #5101, Hook Trail
· #5103, Tinker Bell from Tinker Creek Trailhead to Lake Butte Trail.
· #5038, EZ Street Trail
· #353 and #5025, Magone Slide Trail
· #5099, Deadhead Trail
Closure signs will be posted on the ground, and a detailed map of the closure will be available on the Malheur National Forest website and at and Forest offices.
