KENNEWICK – A 16-year-old boy from Kennewick was arrested Sunday night after allegedly kidnapping his 18-year-old former girlfriend and shooting at her new boyfriend on the 6000 block of Paul Parish Drive located in Columbia Park in Kennewick.
Officers from the Kennewick Police Department arrived in the area and located the suspect’s vehicle traveling east on Paul Parish Drive. When officers attempted to stop the car, it fled at a high rate of speed.
A vehicle pursuit was initiated by the KPD officers and the chase headed northbound on State Route 395 and eventually onto Interstate 82. The vehicle was stopped near Jadwin Avenue in Richland where the suspect exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. After a short foot chase, the suspect was arrested. No injuries were reported.
The teenage boy was booked into the Benton County Juvenile Detention Center for first-degree kidnapping, two counts of first-degree assault, eluding and felony harassment.
