PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission has scheduled a short special meeting to take place at 6:45 p.m. today (Tuesday). The commission is being asked to award Humbert Asphalt of Milton-Freewater the contract for reconstructing Southwest 10th Street between Southwest Court and Southwest Dorion avenues.
That reconstruction will be paid for by urban renewal funds. The project will also repair a collapsed storm drainage system as well as other drainage problems. Humbert was the low bidder at $339,332.
The Pendleton City Council meeting will begin as soon as the PDC meeting ends. Items on the consent agenda include approving an intergovernmental agreement for Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch, and renewing the convention center’s contract with Pendleton Catering.
New business includes signing a new contract with the InterMountain Education Service District for internet technology support services. The council will also begin considering transferring 3.5 acres of land to Horizon Project, Inc. for South Hill Commons, a low-income housing project that will also include a group home.
