Suspicious circumstances leads to warrant arrest

PRAIRIE CITY – UPDATE (9:20 a.m.): According to information from Umatilla County officials, the warrant Mr. Ganguly was arrested on was issued for failure to appear on a Criminal Trespass II charge. The pretrial conference he did not attend was in 2021. Therefore, the Sixth Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: On Sunday afternoon at approximately 4:10 p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hotel Prairie in Prairie City for the report of suspicious circumstances. As a result, one individual was arrested.

Joshua Dipankar Ganguly, 36, of Elgin, Oregon was arrested on a Umatilla County warrant. Nothing further was released regarding the arrest.
