Suspect steals vehicle at gunpoint from Columbia Park

KENNEWICK – Kennewick police report a man stole a family’s SUV as a father and his two children were sitting in their vehicle at the Playground of Dreams in Columbia Park at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect pulled a gun from a satchel he was carrying and pointed it at the father telling him to leave the keys in the vehicle, but to get his two children out of the back seat.
The suspect, a Hispanic male in his mid-thirties with a thin mustache, was wearing a gray or green vest and blue jeans. He stole a red 2013 Ford Explorer with a luggage rack on the roof bearing license plate AXC1537 and left the playground area heading westbound through the park.
KPD said the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees the vehicle or suspect call 911. Do not approach the vehicle or attempt to interact with the suspect.
