Suspect in deadly shooting between two vehicles arrested

KENNWICK – Benton County Sheriff Tom Croskrey announced Friday the arrest of a suspect in the Oct. 15 shooting between two vehicles on State Route 397 near Third Avenue that resulted in the death of Jatzivy Sarabia, 18.

During their investigation, detectives from the Benton County Sheriff’s Office identified Isiah Combs, 20, as a suspect, along with a dark colored 2016 Honda Civic as one of the suspect vehicles.

On Thursday, detectives received information that the Honda Civic used in the shooting was parked outside an apartment on the 1800 block of Jadwin Avenue. Detectives with the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the Richland Police Department Streets Crimes Team conducted surveillance on the apartment and were able to confirm Combs was inside the apartment. He was arrested without incident and booked on suspicion of aggravated first-degree murder with a notice of firearm allegation and enhancement.

The Honda Civic was seen leaving the apartment, but officers were able to stop it and take possession of the car for evidence in the case. During the traffic stop, a juvenile was arrested on an unrelated warrant.
