Suspect identified in Kennewick homicide

KENNEWICK – Detectives from the Kennewick Police Department have identified a suspect in the murder of Brandy Ebanez, 34, of Kennewick. Her remains were found by a fisherman in the Columbia River on Sept. 27.

The suspect was known to Ebanez and has been taken into custody in Oregon and is awaiting extradition to Washington state.

KPD is not releasing the suspect’s name as he had not been formally charged with murder in Benton County, however multiple media outlets report the suspect as Richard Michael Jacobson, 34. He is currently being held in the Multnomah County Jail.

Ebanez was raised in Pahala, Hawaii and leaves behind two daughters.
