WALLA WALLA – New details have been released by the Walla Walla Police Department surrounding the Aug. 15 shooting on the 200 block of Tausick Way that injured a juvenile. WWPD said Monday that just hours after the shooting, a juvenile suspect was located near the scene and taken into custody.
Just after 4 a.m. on Aug. 15, WWPD received a 911 call from the residence the shooting occurred at reporting someone just shot through the walls and that someone inside the residence was hit by a bullet. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile sustained a non-life-threatening bullet wound. The scene was secured before paramedics began treating the juvenile, who was then transported to the local hospital.
At 11:15 a.m., the same day of the shooting, detectives located a juvenile suspect about a mile away from the scene of the shooting and took them into custody. The suspect remains in custody at the Walla Walla Juvenile Justice Center.
