PENDLETON – The Pendleton School District Board of Directors is moving faster than expected in the search to find a new superintendent. The board is holding an executive session Thursday to interview a group of semifinalists.
While the general public is not allowed to attend executive sessions, the board is able to invite special guests. Those 18 guests are members of what basically amounts to an advisory hiring committee.
“Nine district employees and nine community members will be allowed to be part of those semifinalist interviews and then they’ll be asked to provide some feedback,” retiring Superintendent Chris Fritsch said.
The board will then narrow the group of semifinalists down to a few finalists. The public will have a chance to meet them the week of March 28. A definite schedule for that week has not yet been established.
“Depending on the number of finalists what that day or days will look like for those candidates is yet to be determined,” he said.
