LA GRANDE – George Mendoza, Superintendent of the La Grande School District feels that the district is providing as good of a service for comprehensive distance learning, so far, as the majority of students learn from home. Mendoza said in the board meeting this week, he is pleased on how K-3rd grades are adjusting, despite all the safety requirements that are in place.
The teachers for 4th grade on up would like to see students in class as well. Mendoza felt the higher grades will eventually be in class this 2020/21 school year, however it would be likely in mid-January. But also, depends on the matrix changes, health supports, such as vaccines, or other treatments. Mendoza said, “My intention is to get kids back in school.”
