Sumpter Snowmobile Club donates $3,000 to local organizations

BAKER COUNTY — A total of $3,000 was recently delivered to two Baker County charities. The Sumpter Snowmobile Club reports the fruits of their 2026 Poker Run allowed them to donate $1,500 each to Best Friends of Baker, Inc. and the Baker County Search and Rescue Team.

Best Friends of Baker, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that advocates for the needs of domestic pets, particularly dogs and cats, within Baker County. According to their mission statement, Best Friends of Baker promotes dignity, humane treatment, and responsible animal population control through education, spaying, and neutering. The volunteers also facilitate medical needs, foster care, and thoughtful placement of all animals.

The Baker County Search and Rescue Team is facilitated by the Baker County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Travis Ash was present to receive the donation check. BCSO stated, “The Baker County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team can’t say ‘thank you’ enough to the Sumpter Snowmobile Club for their generous donation! Each year they host the Sumpter Poker Run and donate a portion of the proceeds raised. We are so grateful to be the recipient of their generosity!”
