Subject arrested for multiple theft/burglary charges.

BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker City Police Department) On October 27th, 2021, Baker City Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious individual sitting in his car outside of a home on Indiana Avenue.  Police contacted BRENDON SMITH in a 2003 black Mercedes four door with WA plates of BHW2889.  As a result of the contact police recovered multiple items that had been stolen from outside of Baker City residences.  There were additional items that police believe to have been stolen but could not locate the victims.  BRENDON was cited to appear in court on charges of theft first degree.  

On 11/05/2021 Hills Auto Parts and Repair reported multiple business and customer vehicles entered and items stolen from the vehicles, Brendon was identified as the suspect in these crimes.

On 11/08/2021 Bendon was contacted at the Baker Truck Corral in his vehicle where officers again located multiple items that had been stolen from outside residences as well as from multiple unlocked vehicles in Baker City.  Brendon was arrested and lodged at the Baker County Jail for Theft I.

Baker City Police are continuing to follow-up on leads and theft reports involving Brendon, addition charges are expected.
