JOHN DAY – Grant County Education Service District Superintendent Robert Waltenburg was on KJDY’s Coffee Time Thursday. While the students are out for their winter breaks, he wanted to give a quick reminder for parents who may have sick kiddos when it’s time to return to school:
“The Oregon Health Authority and your local school—they appreciate common sense things like, ‘If your kid has a fever, don’t sent them to school, please.’ And they [have] to be fever-free for twenty-four hours before they come back.”
Waltenburg said if the student has vomited as the result of a communicable disease, they must then wait forty-eight hours before coming back to school.
