Strong winds cause outage to over 480 members

GRANT COUNTY – It must be springtime in Grant County. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued yesterday evening for Grant County, cautioning residents of potential 60 mile-per-hour winds, quarter sized hail, and driving rain. According to a release from OTEC, at around 9:00pm a power outage in the Dayville area of Grant County was reported affecting approximately 482 member-owners. The cause of the outage is believed to be strong winds that damaged a pole and equipment. Power has since been restored.

In Canyon City, the Nugget Street Bridge remains closed due to flooding, and detours are in place.

Also, in John Day—Southwest 4th Street, known as Airport Road, is closed today for paving. Use alternate routes. Stay tuned/posted for updates.

OUTAGE NOTIFICATION – John Day District

At around 9:00pm a power outage in the Dayville area of Grant County was reported affecting approximately 482 member-owners. The cause of the outages is believed to be strong winds that damaged a pole and equipment. Crews have been dispatched to the area to restore power and replace the damaged pole, which is expected to take several hours.
