Striping operations to take place from Austin Junction to Ironside on U.S. 26

AUSTIN, OR – (Release from Oregon Department of Transportation–Region 5)

Travelers in Grant County should plan for delays this week as crews begin striping highways to improve visibility and safety. The work is expected to run through the end of the month. Crews will begin by striping the newly chip sealed stretch of U.S. 26 (John Day Highway) from Austin Junction at OR 7, milepost 191.5, to Ironside at milepost 231.

The highway will be limited to a single lane through the work zone. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers and pilot cars. Please give paint trucks plenty of room to avoid overspray of paint. Expect delays of less than 20 minutes and reduced speeds through the work zones.

Please slow down and use caution when you see crews and equipment.
