Strangulation & assault charges land Huntington man in jail

HUNTINGTON – A Huntington man is in jail following an alleged domestic incident that occurred Sunday morning. On January 4th, at approximately 11:47 a.m., a Baker County Deputy responded to a location on East Jefferson Street in Huntington for the report of an assault.

Kyle Allen Harp, 34, was arrested for Assault IV—Domestic Violence, Harassment—Domestic Violence, and Strangulation—Domestic Violence. Harp was lodged into the Baker County Jail.

On January 4, 2026 at approximately 11:47 a.m., Baker County Dispatch received a report of a disturbance that occurred in Huntington, OR. The suspect was no longer at the residence.

Deputies responded to the area to meet with the involved parties. During the investigation, it was determined that an argument began between two individuals. As the argument escalated, Kyle Allen Harp (34 yoa) of Huntington, tried to bite the victim, who then attempted to push him off her. Harp strangled the victim and shoved her into a wall. He left the scene and went to a residence nearby. 

Deputies located Harp and placed him under arrest. He was charged with Assault IV, Harassment and Strangulation. Harp was transported to the Baker County Jail and lodged.
