BAKER CITY – (Release from the Oregon State Police) OSP F&W conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on E 3rd St and E Jefferson St, Huntington for a traffic violation. The vehicle had previously driven out of an illegal campsite along the Burnt River shore bank. The driver (Jason Deloye Shaw of Boise Idaho) eluded and OSP terminated the pursuit, attempting follow-up at the illegal campsite. The driver was positively identified and was still outstanding. The driver was a convicted felon and PC was developed for Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession of Stolen Vehicle and Unlawful Take/Possession of Buck Deer.
A search warrant was granted by the Baker County Circuit Court Judge of the illegal campsite and upon search the following was seized. One Buck deer, one firearm and two stolen vehicles. The eluding vehicle was located and seized as evidence and a search warrant is being prepared. Investigation on going and the driver is still UTL (Unable to Locate).
