BAKER CITY – A 27-year-old Michigan man was arrested in Baker County earlier this week after dispatch received information regarding a stolen vehicle. According to reports from Oregon State Police in Baker County, Baker County Dispatch received information that a stolen vehicle was traveling through the Baker City area and was being tracked via OnStar.
Law enforcement in Baker County including Oregon State Police, Baker City Police Department, and Baker County Sheriff’s Office strategically set up in various locations in the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle.
An Oregon State Police Officer observed the vehicle exiting I-84 at exit 304 and entering into Baker City. A traffic stop was initiated, the driver was removed from the vehicle via a high-risk traffic stop without incident, according to reports.
The driver, 27-year-old Kadhim Forat Albrahi was charged with Unlawful Use of a Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle as well as a Warrant out of Michigan.
He was lodged in the Baker County Jail.
