Spring cleaning leads to Umatilla County yard sale

PENDLETON – Warmer temperatures don’t just signal the beginning of road construction and yard work. It’s also a time when people’s junk becomes other people’s treasures. Umatilla County Commissioner John Shafer says that it’s time for the county to have a yard sale.

“Once a year or every other year, the county will get rid of old desks, chairs, file cabinets, and other things,” he said. “We do our spring cleaning.”

The Umatilla County yard sale will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the county shops on Southeast Dorion Avenue next to the Umatilla County Courthouse. Shafer says you can’t miss it.

“We’ll have great signage out there,” he said.

He added that the county is happy to pass along office equipment to others who could use some office equipment.
