BAKER CITY — Baker City Downtown has announced it has won a national grant in partnership with the Lions Club for the Splash Pad project.
Baker City Downtown says they were one of 25 selected for this national grant, beating out more than 500 other applicants. The grant award is over $48,000, which will cover the concrete and labor for the splash pad – which according to organizers meaning the project is almost close to being fully funded.
The splash pad project has been a community driven initiative for several years. Organizers would like to build it at Baker City’s Central Park.
Baker City Downtown is inviting the public to attend a ceremony for the grant on Wednesday, December 13th at 11:30am in the Court Street Plaza. Refreshments will be available.
