PRAIRIE CITY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley issued a press release regarding a crash on Monday outside of Prairie City.

(Press Release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office)

Near 4:30 pm on August 14th, the Grant County Emergency Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a single vehicle roll over crash with multiple injured parties on the Strawberry Road south of Prairie City.

Medical personnel from Prairie City and John Day responded along with Air Link from St. Charles in Bend. County Deputies and Oregon State Troopers responded as well.

The initial information was that a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, operated by Brittany West, 35, of Prairie City, was south bound on Strawberry road, when it rolled multiple times. West, and a passenger, Christopher Boyer, 34, also of Prairie City, were ejected from the vehicle.

A third individual in the vehicle, Austin Titus, 31, from Prairie City, remained in the vehicle, and self-extricated himself.

All three were transported to the Blue Mt. Hospital. Titus and Boyer were treated and released, and West had sustained significant injuries and was flown to St. Charles in Bend.

Speed and intoxicants appear to be a factor in the crash. No other persons were harmed by this crash.

As your Sheriff I would like to remind persons to drive defensively and be vigilant of the driving of others. Be safe when traveling the roadways and byways of our County.
