WALLA WALLA – Firefighter and paramedic Anthony Spada will not return to work at the Walla Walla Fire Department. Spada resigned April 25 while the city was conducting an internal investigation to determine whether he would be allowed to return to work after child sex crime charges against him were dismissed last December.

City of Walla Walla Communications Manager Brenden Koch said the city accepted his resignation and no further action will be taken on the investigation. The Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office dismissed charges against Spada because the survivor declined to participate in the second trial.

Spada’s first trial was declared a mistrial as the jury could not agree on a verdict.
