LA GRANDE – Soroptimist International of La Grande recently announced a major $40,000 dollar contribution to two local community projects. La Grande’s new splash pad received $30,000 dollars from the organization, while the Anthony Lakes rental and repair shop replacement received $10,000 dollars.
The full announcement from Soroptimist International of La Grande is as follows:
Soroptimist International of La Grande is proud to announce that through our Capital Projects funding, we were able to give $30,000 toward the new Splash Pad revamp and remodel project and $10,000 to the Anthony Lakes Outdoor Recreation Association to support the capital project of replacing the outdated rental and repair shop at the ski area. That’s $40,000 invested right back into our community!
The La Grande Splash Pad revamp and remodel is very exciting and eagerly looked forward to by many in our community.
The new facility at the ski area will continue to offer ski equipment rentals and repairs, and also provide a dedicated space for children who benefit from free or discounted rates for skis, boots, and poles through various programs. On any given day, up to 300 children participate in these initiatives, and the new building will feature a designated area for them to gather when not on the slopes. ⛷️
These projects create places for families to spend time together, kids to make memories, and our community to enjoy for years to come.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports our fundraisers, attends our events, donates, volunteers, and continues to believe in what Soroptimist does. When you support SILG, in addition to our education scholarships, this is what you are helping make possible.
The Soroptimist women of La Grande are proud to continue investing in projects that make our community an even better place to live, play, and raise our families.”
