WALLA WALLA – In 2018, shortly after Walla Walla Town Center opened, it was announced that fast food chain Sonic Drive-In would be opening near West Rose Street and Wildwood Street. Unfortunately for fans of Sonic’s slushies, hot dogs, hamburgers and fried American food, Sonic is not coming to that location.
“Sonic is not proceeding with its plan to open in the Walla Walla Town Center,” Walla Walla Development Services Director Preston Frederickson said.
Frederickson explained that the city was notified last fall by Walla Walla Town Center representative Alan Gottlieb of Sonic’s plan.
“That’s really all I know about it,” Frederickson said. According to Frederickson, Gottlieb did not provide any further details regarding Sonic’s decision.
