Smoldering warehouse in Finley flares up

FINLEY – Firefighters from Benton County Fire District No. 1 and Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5 responded Monday night to a call from onsite security about large flames coming from the Lineage Logistics warehouse, 224905 E. Bowles Rd., in Finley.
The warehouse, which originally caught fire April 21, is still smoldering.
Monday night’s fire remained within the footprint of the building and no other structures were threatened.
Firefighters said the once-frozen vegetables had thawed and are now drying out, creating new, dry fuel.
Crews spent about three hours putting water on the burning area, hitting hot spots they could reach. Security remains on scene and will alert firefighters if there is another flare up.
