Small wildfire starts near Unity and Monument

UNITY, OR – A couple of small wildfires were reported recently southwest of Unity, according to John Day Interagency Dispatch Center. On Tuesday, the Little Baldy I fire was reported at a tenth of an acre about 14.7 miles from Unity. Then yesterday, the Little Baldy II fire, also last updated at a tenth of an acre, was reported near the first one. Resources are on scene and containment information has not been listed. MONUMENT, OR – The Black Mountain Fire north of Monument was reported last Tuesday and contained yesterday, according to the John Day Interagency Dispatch Center. The fire got to about 2 acres in size, burning in brush, timber, grass, logs and duff. The fire was reported about 5 minutes before 5 p.m. on Tuesday and was contained by 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
