PASCO — Multiple emergency agencies responded to the Columbia River on Wednesday afternoon after a small plane struck powerlines and crashed.
Sgt. Michael Rosane of the Kennewick Police Department confirmed the aircraft went down on the Pasco side of the river.
According to officials with the city of Pasco, the incident caused an immediate loss of power in the area.
Responders from the Washington State Department of Ecology are en route, along with a boat and drone for assessment.
No further information regarding injuries or the cause of the crash was immediately available.
The incident remains under investigation, and officials say more details will be released as they become available.
