Sleep Center rape case is dismissed

WALLA WALLA – Charges against a Yakima man arrested last fall for alleged sexual assault involving a woman at the sleep center has been dropped. The reason is the alleged victim’s whereabouts are currently unknown.

Walla Walla County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Michelle M Mulhern asked the court to dismiss three felony charges against Will Arthur Stubblefield Jr., 46. The charges were first-degree rape, first-degree burglary, and harassment.

Stubblefield was arrested October 5, 2021, after allegedly entering a female’s hut at the sleep center for the homeless and raping her as she was changing clothes. He is also accused of threatening to kill the female victim and stealing $5 from her.

Walla Walla County Superior Court Judge Brandon L. Johnson signed the order on March 11, dismissing the case and charges, along with dropping all previous no-contact orders.
