The identity of the skeletal remains has been determined thanks to dental records and Oregon State Police.
In October 2024, a local landowner found skeletal remains on his property. The remains were weathered and unidentifiable at the time. The remains that were found were gathered and then sent to the Oregon State Police Medical Examinerโs Office for further examination.
This month, through a dental extraction at OSPโs Forensic Anthropologistโs office, they were able to match them to a male reported missing in 2016.
Christopher Flammang, DOB 10-24-1986, was listed as a transient at the time of the missing personโs report. He was last seen in Pendleton. His family has been notified.
Thank you to Oregon State Police and the Union County District Attorneyโs Office for their collaboration and investigation into this case.
The investigation is ongoing. The cause of death is unknown.
