BAKER CITY – Thefts are and have always been a problem no matter what area you live in, but there always steps you can take to make stealing your property a little harder for thieves.ย ย
Some basic things to do include:
โขLocking doors and windows
โขUse timers on lights
โขSecure sliding doors
โขHave deadbolts installed on outside doors
โขIf your keys are ever lost of stolen, replace your locks immediately
โขLock up shed and other outbuildings
โข Do not leave keys inside your vehicle
Keeping valuables out of site is also important when possible:
โขStore lawnmowers and bicycles out of sight or locked up when possible
โขUse curtains on garage and basements windows to hid what is inside
โขDo not leave valuables such as electronics, purses, or wallets inside your vehicle
Other ideas:
โขKeep trees and shrubs around windows and doors trimmed so they canโt be used for hiding
โขInstall alarms, and/or security cameras
โขUse motion lights
