MILTON-FREEWATER – Milton-Freewater Police officers responded to shots fired just after 10 p.m. Saturday near the Community Building, 109 NE Fifth Avenue. The building has been rented out to a family for a large wedding event.
An initial investigation revealed multiple shots had been fired outside the building. Two vehicles had been struck and no people were injured.
“Two persons of interest are known,” Chief Doug Boedigheimer said. “The incident is possibly gang related.”
Several items of evidence were collected, including shell casings and a bullet that was lodged into a vehicle. This evidence will be submitted for forensic analysis and evaluation. The investigation is ongoing.
