WALLA WALLA – Officers from the Walla Walla Police Department responded at 9:50 p.m. Saturday to reports of a shooting near the intersection of South Sixth Avenue and West Main Street.
When officers arrived, they located a 32-year-old Walla Walla man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Witnesses at the scene reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing individuals fleeing the area on foot. The victim was transported by ambulance to the local hospital for treatment.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force was called in to take over the investigation.
At this stage of the investigation, the motive behind the incident remains unknown, and no suspects have been identified. Detectives are actively following up on leads, and there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
